About chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health discipline focused on assessing and caring for spinal dysfunctions that can affect the nervous system and cause pain or loss of function. In Spain it is legal, though not currently recognised as an official healthcare profession.

Assesses the spine through case history, postural and orthopaedic evaluation, and applies specific manual spinal adjustments to support joint mobility and nervous system function. No medication, no surgery.

In Spain, physiotherapists are regulated healthcare professionals working mostly with muscular techniques and mobilisations. Chiropractors focus on the spine and the nervous system through specific spinal adjustments. The approaches are complementary; many patients combine both.

Osteopaths work globally on the body with varied manual techniques. Chiropractors specialise in the spinal system with specific, precise adjustment techniques. The practical difference is in the precision and specificity of work on the spine.

No. You can come to the practice directly without a referral. If Robert spots signs of an issue outside the chiropractic scope, he will refer you to the appropriate medical specialist.

Safety

Chiropractic care delivered by a university-trained, certified professional (BCC + UPF Master + AEQ Member #1410) has a strong safety profile according to the available scientific literature.

You may notice mild tiredness or muscle soreness in the 24–48 hours after the first adjustment, similar to starting a new sport. It's normal and short-lived.

Usually no. Some patients feel mild pressure or immediate relief. If there is acute inflammation, you may notice some short-lived sensitivity, which Robert manages by adapting the technique.

In many cases yes, but a prior assessment is required. At the first visit Robert evaluates whether chiropractic is appropriate for your case. For an active herniation with neurological deficit, we refer to a medical specialist.

Yes, with adapted techniques. For severe osteoporosis Robert uses low-force techniques (Activator, SOT, instrument-assisted adjustments) instead of traditional manual manipulation.

Chiropractic care, when delivered by a professional with specific training, is typically well tolerated during pregnancy. Always consult your midwife or obstetrician before starting any complementary therapy during pregnancy.

Yes, using age- and weight-appropriate techniques. The pressure used on babies is very gentle. It is important to see a professional with paediatric training.

About sessions

It depends on the case. On the first visit Robert assesses your situation and designs a personalised plan. Most patients notice an improvement between the 3rd and 6th session, though every case is unique.

The first visit takes about 45–60 minutes (case history + assessment + explanation + first adjustment if appropriate). Follow-up sessions typically last 15–25 minutes.

In the active phase we usually schedule 1–2 sessions per week for the first few weeks. Once stable, sessions move to fortnightly or monthly depending on the case and goals.

Unhurried case history, full postural and orthopaedic assessment, explanation of findings and, if appropriate, a first spinal adjustment. Robert explains what he found before applying any technique.

Many patients see Robert regularly for maintenance, prevention and performance, especially those who spend long hours sitting or play sports. It's not required, but it's a valid option.

Yes, they are complementary approaches. Many of our patients combine chiropractic with physiotherapy, Pilates, yoga or strength training with good results.
